In the gritty world of the Hyborian Age, no warrior was more legendary than Conan of Cimmeria. THQ has captured the blood-soaked essence of Robert E. Howard's tales and bringing the adventures of the barbarian to life in this third-person action-adventure game. Taking inspiration from Frank Frazetta's depictions of the Cimmerian and his world, the environments are deeply rendered – from the savannahs of Kush to the pyramids of Stygia. No matter where Conan's quest takes him, menace lurks around every darkened corner. When Conan is left for dead by a dark sorcerer, he vows to return the mage back to his prison. To do so, he must recover his armor which has been scattered around the by the force of Graven's magical attack. Initially armed with only a sword, Conan can acquire other weapons from defeated enemies and can switch fighting styles between one- and two- handed weapons or using a weapon in each hand – which can be used to devastating effect. Objects in the environment – including furnishings and broken pillars can be used to crush Stygian troops, pirates, cultists and monsters alike. Conan can even call upon the magic that has imbued his armor to destroy his foes with fiery rain, flocks of ravens or other curses. As he continues his quest, he rescues imprisoned women, uncovers treasure and acquires new weapons – all of which reward him with points to rebuild health and improve his combat prowess.
