Gentlemen, Please suspend the current production, get a Robert E. Howard expert in the same room with the scriptwriters. Have them read the books and instruct them that the Conan stories will serve as the building blocks for the movie, and nothing else. Also, use this film as a chance to reinvent the pop cultural idea of Conan.

Does it not dawn on anyone (with an influence) that we wouldn't even be discussing a Conan movie if it wasn't for Howard's incredible work? "If it isn't broke..." Have faith. Do an adaptation of an original story.

No pastiche Conan. Please deliver an adaptation that is faithful. Nobody wants to go to Arizona to eat a Philly Cheese Steak. Get this right guys, you will be ensuring a continued revenue stream, why do you want to make a joke of a flick, the writers you have have demonstrated a severe lack of understanding of this character, and are damaging the franchise. Everyone who reads pastiche Conan, then compares it to real Conan, knows which is best. So why go for pastiche.

I realize the production of this movie is a multimillion dollar business venture which needs to have broad appeal to reach the widest audience to make maximum profit, but everything I have read about this production is simply WRONG, from the plot synopsis to the director to everything inbetween. Please, hire and take advantage of some Robert E. Howard experts. This is an established character who has had a legion of fans for a good 80 years or so. You can deviate from the source material to a degree, but if you water it down too much, the result will be a piece of garbage that is Conan in name only. History has shown the source material is already entertaining and great. Make a true Conan movie adhering (mostly) to this material and you can ride the support of the fans to success and sequels. Ignore the source material and fans, and this movie will probably fail unless by random luck.

The true spirit of Robert E. Howard should be portrayed in to the new generation, do not waste such an awesome opportunity by turning it into a fast food macdonalds version.
